Watch face for Garmin
Hamsy lives
the day
you live.
Hamsy is a little hamster on your watch face. Your watch measures Body Battery, stress and movement, and Hamsy shows you what that adds up to: proud after a workout, sleepy when your reserves run low, curled up at bedtime.
- Runs entirely on the watch
- No account, no cloud
- Six display sizes
Live right now: Fully charged in the morning
A day with Hamsy
A perfectly ordinary day.
Scroll through the day. At every stop you see which pose Hamsy picks from your watch’s readings.
- 07:12
Just woke up
For the first half hour after you wake up, Hamsy sits there calmly and blinks. How the night went doesn’t matter.
- 08:05
Fully charged
After a good night your Body Battery is above 90, and Hamsy has energy to spare all morning.
- 11:40
The meeting drags on
When the watch measures high stress, Hamsy looks tense too. Once the readings calm down, so does Hamsy.
- 14:30
Glued to the desk
After more than an hour of sitting, Hamsy would like to go for a little walk. As soon as you get up, that’s settled.
- 17:50
Running shoes on
As soon as you move, Hamsy runs along, in three alternating frames.
- 18:35
Nailed it
For an hour after a workout, Hamsy is proud of you. A run counts just as much as strength training.
- 20:10
The seed
Reach your daily goal and Hamsy holds a sunflower seed in its paws, all through the next day as well.
- 22:40
Good night
Half an hour before your bedtime, Hamsy curls up and goes to sleep.
Try it yourself
Set up your day.
The same logic runs here as on the watch, just with sliders instead of sensors. Pick a scenario or set the values yourself.
Why this pose?
Nothing special is going on right now. Hamsy is just there.
The order in which Hamsy decides
- 1 Bedtime
- 2 Just woke up
- 3 Reserves almost empty
- 4 You’re on the move
- 5 Lots of tension
- 6 Workout done
- 7 Sitting for a long time
- 8 Fully charged in the morning
- 9 Inner calm
- 10 A perfectly ordinary moment applies
Hamsy goes through the rules from top to bottom, and the first one that fits applies. Tiredness and stress come before pride: if you’re worn out, you shouldn’t be cheered on as well. Here, 22 active minutes plus a just-finished workout are enough for pride. On the watch, strength training that barely adds active minutes counts too.
Why Hamsy?
A character instead of a number.
Your watch has told you how you’re doing for years. But a number is easy to overlook. A hamster that’s happy about your walk is harder to ignore.
- 01
Nothing gets lost
Hamsy never gets sick or goes hungry. A lazy day is simply a rest day. When you get something done, Hamsy is happy with you, and the goal doesn’t go up because of it.
- 02
Your watch keeps score
You don’t have to log or tick off anything. Hamsy only uses what your watch measures anyway.
- 03
Stays on your watch
Everything is calculated on the watch. No account, no server and no app sending your data anywhere.
- 04
One glance is enough
You can tell how your day is going from Hamsy’s pose whenever you check the time. There are no charts.
Poses

FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
What happens if I’m lazy for a week?
Nothing. Hamsy doesn’t get sick, and what you’ve achieved isn’t lost. In a quiet week, Hamsy simply rests with you.
Which readings does Hamsy use?
Body Battery, stress, steps, active minutes, the time and your bedtime from your Garmin settings. Your watch measures all of that anyway.
Where does my data go?
Nowhere. Everything is calculated on the watch, there is no account and no server, and the watch face sends nothing to the internet. Even the weather (in the rain Hamsy holds up a leaf as an umbrella) comes from your watch.
Is this a health or medical product?
No. Hamsy makes no diagnoses, gives no medical advice and isn’t a measuring device.
Does it drain my battery?
The watch face reads the values only about once a minute, just like any other watch face. In always-on mode it shows a heavily reduced view.
When can I get Hamsy on my watch?
Hamsy is already being tested on real watches, and the launch in the Garmin Connect IQ Store is being prepared. Join the beta list and we’ll let you know.✳
